Hawaii Loa Ridge

Subject: Railing
Motif: Oriental Modern
Dimensions: 3’ H x 270 + linear feet
Materials: Aluminum
Special Features: • Exclusive lustre finish
Design: Hallmark Construction

Over 270 linear feet of meticulously crafted railing adorn the rim and lanai of this magnificent property. An immense amount of labor was invested into the details of this project and yet from an onlookers perspective it appears fairly simplistic.

At L & M Metal Works it is the customer’s desires that are manifested into the creations we produce. On this project we utilized highly refined finish processes to accentuate the points on the railing that are often left untouched by others. Every outside corner is treated to what we call line reformation after it is welded; this produces sharp crisp lines that reflect the care and passion of the craftsman performing his art. You will find no marks or gouges on our products left by tooling or shoddy workmanship.

Finally L & M Metal Works created an exclusive color to dress the railing and give it just the right degree of accentuation against the other architectural elements. This home sold before it was 100% complete and we at L & M Metal Works were proud to be a part of this effort as we truly have our customer’s interest and heart.

Hawaii Loa Ridge

Subject: Interior railing and Handrail
Motif: Contemporary/Modern
Dimensions: Railing – 3’H x25 linear feet
Handrail – 45 linear feet
Materials: Stainless Steel, brass, and bronze
Special Features: • Polished Stainless Steel and Brass Balusters
• Polished Bronze Handrail Cap
• Concealed weld points
• Fastener Caps
Design: Michael Martindell

Stainless and Bronze form an aesthetic union that is unrivaled by any other combination of two metals. In this home both elements complimented many other points including drawer pulls, light fixtures, and kitchen details.

The handrail required complex-bending processes, which were performed using a competent piece of equipment and an experienced operator, trained in bending procedures. It was necessary to form the polished stainless steel flat bar and bronze handrail cap separately and to accomplish a match first time around, as the material being formed cannot be purchased at our local hardware store.

All said and done this architectural hi-lite presents the owner and guest with a visual treat as they enter the home or descend to the lower level of the house.

Pedestrian Gate: 5’H x 3’6” W

This project was the second of two executed for this client and as with the first is in keeping with the tasteful architecture of the home.

Expertise in bending of metal was applied in full measure to achieve compound curves and fluent lines free of any flat spots or kinks in the componetry. Structural geometry was required to assure proper function and ridgity given the unique design and lack of direct vertical support.

Since the rooftop is copper scalloped the finish was tailored to accentuate and collaborate with the hues already present. The faux finish coupled with the design provides the viewer a flip flop visual effect from different viewing angles.
